Welcome to our confidential, mental health peer support and coaching chat service.
We understand you.
We understand how you feel. We’re here for you.
How does it work?
At Leicester Mental Health, we believe that good mental health is as vital as physical health. Whether you’re looking for support for yourself, or for someone you care about, our aim is to guide you to the right place - with compassion, clarity and local focus.
Who runs Leicester Mental Health?
Leicester Mental Health is run by Knus Mental Health C.I.C. (a registered community interest company). It is a locally-focused platform for Leicester & Leicestershire (and surrounding areas) emphasising community, peer support, lived-experience volunteers.
Does it cost anything to access the service?
The service is free of charge for those residing in the UK, aged over 18+.
What is peer support?
Peer support is when people use their own lived experience of mental health difficulties to help others.
How is it different to counselling?
Understanding without judgment – Peers “get it” because they’ve faced similar challenges.
What can I expect?
A peer support session might include talking openly about what’s been happening for you, sharing experiences and coping strategies, exploring what kind of support you might need next, and setting gentle goals for your wellbeing. Sometimes, it’s simply about being listened to, in a safe, confidential space where you’re accepted without judgment and supported with genuine understanding.
Leicester Mental Health is part of knus Mental Health C.I.C.
